Hi everyone! I know I am well overdue for this, but so are a few other DTR members *wink*…so here I go with my intro article!
My name is Mermaid Sakura Sapphire….known to the fandom as “MagiBlue2”…known to everyone else as…Gemma Lascio! A Cleveland, Ohio girl…and proud of it! I’m the kind of person who likes to make new friends, be kind to everyone, and look on the bright side of things. I tend to go between being quiet and calm, and being a crazy fangirl. I also tend to worry a lot, but it’s just because I care. ^_^ Some of my favorite things other than Tokusatsu include Muppets, Mermaiding, Bishonen Idol Boys, Acting, Singing, Frappuccinos, Cute Things, and Japanese Culture. But most of all, I love spending time with my family and friends. <3
If I seem familiar in the fandom to you, you may remember me as a recurring member of Rangercast. If not from there, you may have seen me on MTV True Life’s “I’m a Fanboy” episode. I became a fan of Power Rangers when I was 4 years old in 1995. This lasted until I was about 6, but then resurfaced in 2005 when I was 14, and I haven’t left since! Within time, I began watching Super Sentai, Kamen Rider, and other Japanese series’ as well. I truly believe that being a fan of tokusatsu has enriched my life to a very great extent. Had I not become a fan, I look back and realize that many happy, important events and people in my life would cease to exist…so toku, I owe you one! ^^
If you listen to the show, you probably know me as the resident “girl”. Which as stated in my article titles, I am very proud of this fact! “Girl Toku: Mermaid Confessions” includes a play on the words “Toku” and “Talk”, and how if you say “Talk” in a Japanese accent, it sounds similar to “Toku”! ^^ My role in Dan’s Toku Rants, as well as in my future articles, is to give our various topics a feminine perspective, with fresh new opinions and points of view. I’m proud of my presence and accomplishments in this fandom, and I’m happy to continue to serve as a positive influence throughout it.
